(I’m sorry – but if you find this post a bit bragging, don’t read it. You may not be aware of the fact how much I cherish these memories and don’t want them to fade^^)

It’s the time to sum my birthday up, which has probably been my best birthday ever, beating my last year birthday ^^

Everything started more than a month before the day, when Zaphiel got me a cute bunny tea cup

and an original Japanese bento set I’d dreamt of, along with the set of cute molds and other items helpful when preparing boxed lunch (the cloth, chopsticks and extra molds aren't in the photo, the photo's taken from eBay, by the way ^^). I couldn't restrain myself from using it before b-day, as it helped me keep my diet and not munching on sweets.

So cute!

As my birthday was supposed to be on Tuesday, making it impossible to celebrate it with my family, I decided to throw a small humble party on Sunday. It was delightful, with yummy food and desserts (prepared by Mom and me, nothing ready-made!), Chinese & Japanese plum wine <3,>

My parents have finally seen (?XD) an artist in me, buying me some ultra-useful stuff that’ll help me to improve a lot. Dad gave me a huge tablet (wait, is it huge or is my hand that small?;) ) and Mum ordered a Lightbox for me (this one’s really huge too, in the photo it’s turned on, so you can see the workspace only. When it’s turned off, it’s even greater!) Thank you so much!! Love you<3

I got some sweets and cash from my Auntie and cousins, but as you can imagine how Polish banknotes look like, I won’t publish photos here ;)

My brother gave me a gift wrapped so nicely I didn’t want to open it.

As the Lindt cherry-flavoured chocolate on the top suggested, the whole present was cherry-themed and included a cute Wild Cherry set from Bodyshop <3

However, the person who’s won the Master of Wrapping title’s Zaphiel. Look at this:

I also got some flowers – roses from Zaphiel and amaryllis from my Mum.

Oops, I forgot about Melanie, a beautiful girl figurine I got before birthday (from Zaphiel, of course:3) who’s a new sister to Alice, but as I haven’t introduced Alice yet, I will post the photo of Melanie only:

But that’s only the beginning : O

On the next day, after work, I was invited to the best sushi restaurant in the city (like, there two of them at the moment, but that doesn’t matter ;) ) by Zaphiel, who encouraged me to eat whatever I wanted...ahem *blush* so we ate a lot. Really a lot XD *forgot about the diet for a moment*

And then, the day came!

(no photos here, but I bet you can imagine high-quality prints in frames?;)

At Deviantart, I was delighted by more fellow artists, who drew pictures especially for me, too. It was so moving ;_;

In the afternoon, when I went to work, I got more presents and wishes from my colleagues :

Beautiful, white heather, scented candles, a towel with my name and a box of Raffaello (my fuel when I draw XD) Prettyyyyy*_*

And when I finally went to the classroom, the children surprised me by drawing a picture for me on the board and singing Happy Birthday. So sweet of them!!! ;_;

In the evening we decided to eat out with my dearest Z., but since the Greek restaurant turned out to be full of cgigarette smoke (eyuck! I didn’t know there are restaurants that aren’t 100% smoke-free), we ended up eating at McDonalds at 10 pm XD

And when I thought my birthday is over, I was surprised by fellow deviants who I happen to know IRL at school. On the next day, when I was working, I saw Jannet, Shirral and Kuba holding a homemade Bundz birthday cake Jannet baked. Unbelievable! And they sang Happy Birthday in front of all the students *.__.* I was so moved I didn’t know what to say!

It was the coolest birthday cake I’ve ever received *__* And it was so yummy, too! Thank you, guys!!

There are some gifts that I orered from eBay but they did’t arrive on time, so I’ll update the post as soon as I get them.

As I’ve mentioned before, you may not fully realise how delighted and happy I feel! Being a kind of recluse for most of my life, I’m still surprised by how many wonderful people I meet everyday. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve all that goodness – but be sure I’m really thankful for making those days so awesome and meaningful to me. Thank you again! I hope I’ll be able to do something in return. Lots of hugs!!

I was quite bored with the cakes from the shop (they're really beautiful, but we buy them so often...) so I asked my Mom to help me make a birthday cake ourselves. So she baked it and filled with yummy raspberry and grape cream, and I decorated the cake with marzipan, chocolate leaves and delicious grapes.

A nice spring '09 memory -I found a sleepy butterfly fluttering helplessly by the window, so I took it outside and placed on a blossoming bush. It sat and didn't move for half an hour, so I got to take some photos:)

Now this one's creepy! This one comes from quite a different place than the similar sign I posted here some time ago (the 'do not feed the elephant' one), but it looks like a part from a set o.O; This time it says 'do not touch the mammoth' XD It was taken in the JuraPark where you can see a nice 1:1 mammoth model. It's so fluffy that people pull its hair, hence the sign and the 'ouch' expression on the mammoth's face.

I dislike crowds and due to my working hours I can't always go shopping in the morning, so I often choose to go to the mall when it's almost closing time. I really like it when most of the shops have already closed and you can get the peaceful, quiet evening feeling. Plus, it takes much less time to do all the shopping :)

'Szkło kontaktowe' is one of the most popular satirical tv programs in Poland. Some time ago one of the guys was wearing a T-shirt from my webcomic 'Pablo' (you can read more here: http://oliko.deviantart.com/journal/10745291/) and now a person watching the show's sent a text message saying 'school's bad', which is a punchline of one of the oldest Pablo comics. My tool of the trade - Copic Markers, which are said to be the best markers in the world. I think it's true, as they're wonderful to work with :) You can see the pictures drawn with them in my gallery linked above. I love how they look together. It's a kind of my own, personal rainbow ^^

In commemoration of the thousands victims of the IIWW, a huge monument has recently been built in the nearby forest and we went to see it. There we found the rock with the information that the place was blessed by the Polish cardinal and visited by the Polish president on September the 14th, 2009. ..wait, wha?... It's September the 12th, so it happened... the day after tomorrow XD Having read that we felt like in an oldschool adventure game, like 'The Longest Journey' for example, where you discover something twisted about the reality and the things slowly begin to change...

The inside of our favourite tea-room. It's decorated in the Art Nouveau-ish style of the twenties (correct me if I recognised the style wrong) and the best thing about it is that everytime we visit the place, something is slightly re-decorated so that we never visit the same room twice. And the tea they serve is awesome too^^

I felt nicely surprised when I discovered it's possible to buy a bento-like lunch box in my city. As you can see the choice is neither Japanese nor Chinese, they just mixed some oriental stuff together - that's a pity! Nevertheless it tasted really well.

One of the proofs I can't work in a 'normally' and in the end I will do everything my own crazy way XD When writing my MA thesis, I re-wrote all the quotes I liked (yes, it took damn lotsa time!), printed them, cut them into smal slips, re-arranged them, read them, kept re-arranging until I felt satisfied, then pasted the quotes and ideas into my thesis and rephrased them. Phew! It was a lot of fun, but I'm happy it's over and I've got the degree :)
